Safety

Today I saw something that some people may not think is much, but to me, it was very scary.  With almost a foot of snow outdoors the neighborhood has been abuzz with fun outdoor activities.  Most of these are safe and cause no worries, however, I did see a truck with a rope attached to the back pulling a child on a sled.  This is not safe.  I saw it again as they were going in the opposite direction and this time as they passed my house another car was passing going in the opposite direction.  The truck with the child in tow was fine, but I still worry that at any moment that child may have veered off to the right and been hit by the oncoming car.

Just because our streets are covered in snow does not mean a road stops being a road.  Safety should still be on the forefront of all adult minds when with children.  I love snow too and it is great to go out and take part in any and all winter activities as long as they are safe and do not pose threat or harm to the innocent children partaking in the joys of the season.
