Take a look at a typical class session!
8:30 a.m. arrival time! Hang up coat, take off shoes and say good bye to family. Wash hands, and choose an area of interest to play till circle/ meeting.
9:00 a.m. circle/ meeting: *We say our greetings to each other * Go through the days of the week *Read one or two stories based on children’s current interests * Review the alphabet in sign language while we say the letters aloud twice * The children share their plan for the day or we brainstorm some ideas together *Choose the area of interest we want to play in.
10:15 or 10:30 a.m. Wash hands and have a healthy snack! The Marigold School of Early Learning provides a vegan style snack consisting of one fruit, one vegetable, nuts & seeds, a nut butter and gluten free crackers. Water is available all class session. The reason for this type of snack is to provide your child with important nutrients your child needs to maintain energy and focus for the entire time they are at school. This style snack also promotes healthy eating habits.
10:30 a.m. Children use the bathroom before we go outdoors. Children also wear boots or tennis shoes outdoors. We spend anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour outdoors. This space will constantly be changing as it emerges into an outdoor science-based classroom.
11:00 or 11:30 a.m. We head inside to take off shoes and hang up coats. We wash hands and go to an area of interest we choose.
11:50 a.m. We clean up all areas. We wash hands for lunch! Lunch is provided for each child by their families.
12:20 a.m. We clean up lunch and gather our things. We read a story and at 12:30 we say our good byes till another day!
Be sure to walk, ride a bike or drive to The Marigold School of Early Learning! See you our next class session! 🙂
